Landrover Snorkel Type 2

This is my new version type 2 snorkel which now has more realistic detail thanks to injection moulding and fits on top of the wing just like the old one instead of the side, and has an air filter mounted at roof level.


I have also tweaked the wing mounting plate which now screws into place and also fits both the older D90 body and the new Team Raffee ones. 

It comes in nine parts and to keep production costs to a minimum I have trimmed off most of the sprue, but there is still a bit of fine clean up work needed where the plastic is injected into the mould to do prior to assembly.

As for assembling it, stick the filter together first then dry fit it in place to get it all straight, then using Humbrol Liquid poly I just dabbed at the joints leaving it to set overnight.

I have included pictures of it on both versions, so you can see it in place.


This is made from white injection moulded HIPS and as no mould release is needed can be painted straight from the packet.
